Restful Sleep

Understanding which dosha rules over certain times of the day and how to optimize your life based upon the energies that are present in any moment. Can help balance your life and create a sense of wholeness. The ideal time to go to sleep according to ayurveda is 10pm. This means that establishing a night time routine is essential to healthy sleep hygiene.

Dreamers have the most difficult time sleeping when Vata is ruling and frequencies are high in the middle of the night when the collective conscious of people are sleeping. People who run on higher frequencies, will find they wake up many times during the hours of 2-4am, feeling completely awake after 1-3 hours of sleep.

Inner Subconscious is aware of all sounds and presences, alerting the body to quickly react. Floods of hormones surge awakening them immediately with ideas or worries. The question is, how does that individual begin to peel back the reasons why they worry or how to release thoughts that manifest unwillingly and unwanted. Writing down those thoughts on a journal in the dark or automatic writing while remaining without light senses can help with the analytical process.

Here are some other tools:

Using the breath to relax any areas of tension within the body. Beginning to add a sense of control over the energetic breath and the physical body. Allowing the senses to tune in to the signals being sent and received.

Bring awareness to the sounds around you near and in the distance. The sound of the cars on a nearby street or freeway. The sound of your significant other breathing next to you calmly. The sound of your own body taking in fresh air and releasing stuck energies with deep exhalations.

Begin to do a scan, what is rising in your consciousness and grab it. Turn this shiny object, this pearl of your inner wisdom and allow it to reveal itself to you. Allow your intuition to flow in and out of it, merging thoughts with awareness. Taking this idea and adding your ideals to form a solid thought process regarding whether you should act with feminine or masculine energy to resolve this issue.

Should the reaction be subtle and light, or dense and complex. Perhaps a neutral approach is best. To remain colorless, with out favoritism, towards one way of reacting or another. Ask yourself what is the ultimate goal, how do I achieve the desired outcome, and what is the next indicated step.

Through this process you will begin to feel a weight is lifted. Problem solving has become easier knowing you are now tapped into your GPS, Guidance Power System. Become aware of any areas of tension in the physical body and ask it to release with exhales.

If you’ve chosen a female energetic response, a more subtle approach, lie on your right side. Cradle your head with your pillows and wrap yourself in blankets or make yourself comfortable by any means necessary. Begin to draw awareness to the left side of your body, to the left nostril, sending the breath in and out, feeling the cool sensation of the night air. Asking for your right side to become grounded in the masculine protective energies to balance out this soft choice you’ve made. Asking the left side to open, guiding you into action, and revealing how divine feminine energies can recharge the situation into a positive outcome.

If you’ve chosen a more affirmative, firm, male approach to resolution, turn on your left side. Asking the divine feminine to soften, opening to masculine ideals and guide into actions. Making yourself comfortable, begin to inhale and exhale, focusing breath through the right nostril bringing in heat and fire, allowing the breath to fill your belly with intentions to resolve the complex issues. To simplify and boil down how to take action when the time is right.

If you’ve chosen a neutral approach but still feel you need grounding decide to lay on stomach. If lying on your back consider placing a supportive pillow under your knees so all muscles are relaxed. Perhaps turning your head in the most comfortable direction can reveal if it is a feminine or masculine approach that would serve your consciousness to the highest frequency.

If you feel the need to take child’s pose this is a sign that your consciousness is overwhelmed. Actions do not need to be taken yet. Allow your forehead to touch the bed and make a vibration sound similar to MMMMMM. Roll your forehead at the 3rd eye point side to side and allow yourself to draw your awareness deeper inward, into a place that seals this worry away until the time that it should reveal itself.

Your body is now ready to move to a higher frequency. Allowing your Astral body, which has drawn itself close to protect you, to once again drift off into sleep where it remains tethered to you always but can expand and drift into the collective consciousness to download new ideas and ideals. This is where your subconscious can reveal itself through dream manifestation, solving the age old questions of why we sleep and dream.

Always keep a writing tool next to your bed during these experiences and make sure that even though you’re tired you wake up between Pitta’s ruling hours 6am-10am. This is a time for action.

Additional Notes:

Should you have heartburn, nausea or indigestion these can all be signs that there is to much fire in the body and a more subtle approach is necessary.

If you are noticing the opposite, you feel slugish and constipated or lack of drive due to discomfort in the body this is a sign that the subtle body needs to slowly blossom though new routines and thinking habits.

If you find your body to be harmonious but suffer from migraines or chronic headaches there are tools to help you too. Try simply tapping at the Ajna Chakra, your 3rd eye point and applying subtle pressure with each thumb at the corner of the brow bone and the top of your nose. Massage out towards your temples beneath the brow, above the eye and then rotate slow soft circles at the temples. Use fingertips to softly tap all across your forehead from one temple to the other, ending back on the center, pause with light pressure from your pink resting at the pitch of your nose your second finger resting at your hairline with thumbs resting on the temples. Begin to massage your fingertips into your scalp intuitively moving around your crown chakra. Use sweeping motions using your right hand to slide from the crown down the neck, shoulder, and arm to the finger. Repeat on the other side with your left hand sweeping the right side. Flex and extend your hands, shake off like water is dripping down your arms to your fingers. Take deep breaths and ask any areas of tension to relax and reveal it’s purpose.
